Hi,

I am evaluating rapid e-learning authoring tools and am looking for feedback on the tools listed below. What's your experence with each?

KMx
Articulate
Lectora
Captivate 2
Hi Art, what do you plan on desining, i mean whats your software specs
Hi Joe

I will be using them to design all type of e-learning from  software instruction to all type of simulations. I want the SME's to be able to own and update content. I also want the course to be used as reference tools.
I don't know much about KMx accept that it is more of an LCMS than an authoring tool.

Articulate and Lectora are solid, widely adopted tools. Captivate is good for creating simulations, but we got so frustrated with Captivate with standards conformance in assessments we were making, we scaled back the requirements and embedded camtasia content into Lectora.

I recommend you take a tool box approach to content creation where you use the best tool for the need that can create discrete learning objects that you can sequence in your LMS.
